I’ve been eager to visit Montenegro since watching The Brother’s Bloom, so when Adam extended an invitation to visit this stretch of coast, I couldn’t be more ecstatic to join in. We had flown in from Greece, so it was hard to imagine what could possibly top a week of sunset gazing from the cliffs of Santorini. But the views of Budva was stunning in a form all on its own. Wedged between mountains and the coast, Montenegro combines the beauty of an abundantly green forest with the aqua blue gradients of the sea. Budva Old Town is full of winding, cobblestone streets and a plethora of restaurant options.
The city walls was the best lookout point over the city which peaked over the ocean and mountains. Stay at Aman Resorts Sveti Stefan, a thoughtfully designed resort located on an islet off the coast, also home to one of the most extravagant pool I’ve ever swam in. My favorite meal was at Queen’s Chair, where every bite of food was well-considered.
