One of the biggest perks of living in Downtown LA is the accessibility to everything. My commute to every errand and meeting has been reduced to walking distances – until the seven to eight block stretch became a bit, well, insufferable. I decided to expand my horizons beyond the .5 mile radius I was logging into my fit bit and purchased a Linus Bike, a game changer to the dull, daily doldrum of long walks. Sundays haven’t been the same ever since. Ending the weekend with a farmer’s market stroll or weekend jaunt in the park has been best pursued with a quick ride. As for my boyfriend, a downtown local with a work space in Santa Monica, his bike is an indispensable staple in his daily life.
If you’re not yet an owner of a bike, Metro provides the option of the Metro Bike Share, an easy and accessible way to get around LA’s multiple neighborhoods through the newly open train lines. Please take a look at their calendar of events on the homepage here. Get involved with the action by tagging your ride with #MetroBike!
